Do you think cats can sense when somthing is wrong?

Yes, they can sense things...my cat always knows when i'm not feeling myself and always cuddles with me, it is so cute. She also knows when I call her name, and she meows back to me each time. As for your apartment situation, i'm glad you didn't take that apartment. I know now that i've had my cat for her full 2 years of life (well except for the first 8 weeks) I couldn't part with her now.
