How to make English riding breeches?

I was wondering how to make English riding breeches because I can't find any exotic patterns/unique/neon colors that I like. So I figured that I would make my own. Does anyone know what fabrics I should use and how I should make it? My ideal look would be big black and white checkers with a black full seat (I'm guessing deerskin leather.). PLEASE HELP!!
